Best Games for Kid Parties
So you’re holding a birthday party for your kid? You and your child must be both excited. While your kid is busy thinking about the gifts he’ll be receiving for his birthday, you’re occupied planning and preparing for the party. So far, you’ve done everything right from the menu and catering, invitations and souvenirs to the party décor and theme. You’re all set—almost!
There’s only one thing more lacking and that’s the games to be played during the party. It’s been a long time since you’ve gone to children’s party yourself so you barely have any idea on this matter. Fortunately, we’ve come up with a list of the best games to play during kid parties. Here are some of those that you would want to consider for your child’s birthday bash.
Musical strawberry
Cut strawberry fruits into two slices each and put them in a bowl. Ask the kids to form a circle. Play the music and hand a whole strawberry to one kid to pass it on around the circle. When you stop the music, the kid who has the strawberry is eliminated out of the game. But he has the privilege to get a slice from the bowl and eat it. This is a great game to play that would encourage kids to munch on healthy fruits. The winner of the game gets a loot bag prize and a whole strawberry fruit to devour on.
Dress up relay
For this game, the kids would have to form two teams. Each team will have two baskets that contain some clothing. The clothing you can put in the basket should ideally match the theme. For example, if the party’s theme is pirates and treasures, you can put pirate hat, pirate vest, eye patch, hook, and so on inside the basket. The object of the game would be to circle around the post at the other end of the room while fully dressed in the costume. Upon getting back to the teammates, the person would remove the clothes and have the next person in line wear it. The first team who finishes the race wins.
Balloon burst
Before the balloons are inflated, place strips of paper inside some of them. In the strip of paper, write a “dare” and a corresponding prize if the dare is accomplished. For example, in one piece of paper, you can write, “sing happy birthday backwards and win a huge teddy bear” or “shout the birthday celebrant’s favorite cartoon character and win a cartoon t-shirt.”
Bring me
Bring me is a common game played in children’s parties. For a twist, have the kids bring a person instead. For example, have the host shout, “bring Uncle Bob” or “bring the birthday boy”. The fun here is when you ask those people to hide so that the kids would come rushing to find them.
Kids love to play games. And you kid’s birthday party would surely be a hit if you think of the right games to play.
